In recognition of Women's History Month, Toni Jones, vice president of transportation marketing, Palomar Insurance, and member of the Big “I" national Young Agents Committee, sits down with a cast of remarkable leaders who are blazing the way for women in their organizations and the insurance industry.

Jones is joined by Angela Ripley, president of VW Brown Insurance Services and Big “I" Executive Committee member; Courtney Rains, chief marketing officer of Applied Systems; and Crista Walker, vice president of agent engagement at Liberty Mutual and Safeco.

Today, women make up more than half of all employees in insurance agencies, according to the latest Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance study “2023 Outlook: The State of Women in Independent Insurance Agencies." However, while more agencies have at least one woman in leadership, men still outnumber women in leadership roles by two to one. Together, the women talk about the disconnect and how to create leadership opportunities for women in the insurance industry.
