PRODUCT: OnSet Protect.

COMPANIES: The program is administered by K&K Insurance, a subsidiary of Aon, and is underwritten by a number of Markel companies.

AVAILABILITY: Available on an open-brokerage basis.

FOCUS: The OnSet Protect program is designed for the planning, creating, development and shooting of short-term—60 days or less—U.S.-based film or related media productions with budgets up to $1 million.

Film and media productions can be inherently complex and unpredictable. Risks range from on-set accidents to weather delays and equipment malfunctions. With so many moving parts, it doesn't take much for things to go wrong. OnSet Protect is designed to help mitigate these risks, helping protect productions, so they can focus on what matters the most: bringing their creative vision to life.

“K&K Insurance, a subsidiary of Aon, has provided insurance solutions in the sports, leisure and entertainment space for over 50 years. We deeply understand the nuances, risks and challenges within this field, and we're excited to add OnSet Protect to our robust portfolio of specialized programs," says Jon Spratt, OnSet Protect program lead, OnSet Insurance.

“Our program offers tailor-made insurance with competitive rates, designed to provide a fast and flexible quoting experience," he adds. “Backed by unwavering support and innovative solutions, our team is as passionate about your client's creative vision as they are."

COVERAGE DETAILS: The program includes a suite of commercial inland marine and general liability products, as well as additional optional coverages to meet unique exposures within the entertainment space.

The commercial inland marine coverage includes coverage for faulty stock, camera and processing; negative film, videotape and digitized images; miscellaneous equipment; props, sets and wardrobe; extra expense; non-owned auto; and third-party property damage liability. The general liability coverage includes coverage for third-party bodily injury and property damage, as well as defense costs.

Due to the unique nature of businesses in the entertainment industry, optional additional coverages include coverage for money and securities; animal talent; precision driving; civil authority; utility interruption; and furs, jewelry, arts and antiques.

TARGET: The program offers coverage for a variety of small to midsized productions and specializes in working with DICE (documentaries, industrial, commercial and educational) creative projects. Eligible productions include everything from feature films and festival reels to reality-based TV shows, training videos and more.

COVERAGE AVAILABILITY: Coverage is available in Georgia, New Jersey, South Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Louisiana, New York and Missouri.
