FOCUS: Recently, CompScience announced a managing general agent (MGA) agreement with Nationwide and Swiss Re to underwrite, bind and service workers compensation policies via its Intelligent Safety Platform.

CompScience reduces workers comp insurance costs for businesses by limiting the probability of injuries. Its Intelligent Safety Platform is based on artificial intelligence (AI) powered safety analytics. In addition to coverage, it provides risk assessment and recommendations to make workplaces safer.

“Workers comp is the largest insurance expense for our customers, and therefore the best place to look for savings in this inflationary environment," says Jacob Geyer, chief insurance officer, CompScience. “On top of that, most of our customers are wasting half of their safety budgets, but they don't know which half."

UNDERWRITING: Three items are required to start the underwriting process: ACORD application, mod worksheets and loss runs.

TARGET: CompScience is focused on clients in manufacturing, retail and wholesale, warehousing and logistics.

COVERAGE AVAILABILITY: Coverage is available in 30 states. In states where the workers comp is not available, agencies still have access to the Intelligent Safety Platform.
