COVERAGE DETAILS: This product expansion includes directors & officers, employment practices liability, fiduciary and lawyers professional liability coverages. The ability to place these coverages “with the same insurance provider makes the insurance process less cumbersome," Fair says. “Nonprofit legal aid organizations now have a reputable and established insurance provider."
Berkley Select also provides extensive risk management resources, including dedicated resources for both lawyers professional liability and employment practices liability policyholders such as hotlines, tools and templates, online training courses, continued education credits, HR compliance and more.
UNDERWRITING: Berkley Select offers limits up to $2 million per coverage section with a $10,000 minimum deductible. Pricing is determined on an individual account basis. Rating factors include location, limits, number of employees and financial condition. Ineligible risks include “high-profile advocacy groups" and those with “material political exposures."
TARGET: Berkley Select's appetite includes bar associations, advocacy organizations offering legal aid, civil and social welfare service providers in areas such as immigration legal services, housing, disability and veterans.
